Liqueur whisky can base upon single malts, vat´s or blended whisky´s. Liqueurs are whisky´s flavoured with honey and herbs or like a Bailey´s with coffee or cacao cream. In the early 18th century nearly all the whisky was liquer whisky because the stuff was so bad that i could not be drunk pure. So they were flavoured with herbs and honey to put away the roughness of the whisky. The most famous DRAMBUIE which was probably the first official liquer goes back to Bonnie Prince Charlie.
