A blended whisky is a mixture made from single malts and single grain whisky´s. Since the appearance of the first blend in 1860 through Andrew Usher, there was a steady growing market for blended whisky all over the world. The mixture of the components shall create a drink with a constant quality over the decades, where the components have a harmony to each other and which is very drinkable. Here counts not the solo instrument here is the whole orchester important. The age of a blend shows every time the age of the youngest whisky included in the blend. A blended whisky can contain up to 128 different single malts and single grains like in the J&B Ultima.
